Biography

After leaving OSU, Bud Ossey attended the United States Army’s Engineer Officers Candidate School and served as an engineer officer during World War II. He remained active in the reserves until 1967 when he retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. During a distinguished career with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ North Pacific Division (1946-1974), Bud became chief of the Resource Management Branch with responsibility for projects in the Portland District and for the jetties and harbors along the ¾«¶«Ó°ÊÓ coast. He retired from the Corps and began a second career in insurance. Bud was elected fellow of ASCE and was a charter member, national director and fellow of the American Society of Military Engineers. His service to OSU may be unsurpassed and includes: Alumni Association Board and lifetime member, President-OSU Dad’s Club, Charter Member-OSU Beaver Club Board, President-Beaver Athletic Scholarship Fund, Chair-OSU Council of Regents Board, and OSU Foundation Trustee.
